Angler battles great white shark from Southern California pier

Ran across this article this morning. It fits in more with last weeks theme of sharks although it can also be argued to fit in here. While not hunting related, this article does mention the protection given to these sharks by the California Department of Fish and Game. Like most game departments around the country this agency receives most of its funding from hunters and anglers through license sales, the Pittman-Robertson Act (self imposed taxes on hunting equipment), and the Dingell-Johnson Act (self imposed taxes on fishing equipment).
